Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. [Isaiah 66: 1-2]

Jesus heals a man's withered hand on the Sabbath

New Living Translation

Matthew 12: 9-14

9. Then he went over to the synagogue, 10. where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus, "Is it legal to work by healing on the Sabbath day?" (They were, of course, hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him.) 11. And he answered, "If you had one sheep, and it fell into a well on the Sabbath, wouldn't you get to work and pull it out? Of course you would. 12. And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, it is right to do good on the Sabbath." 13. Then he said to the man, "Reach out your hand." The man reached out his hand, and it became normal, just like the other one. 14. Then the Pharisees called a meeting and discussed plans for killing Jesus.

Mark 3: 1-6

1. Jesus went into the synagogue again and noticed a man with a deformed hand. 2. Since it was the Sabbath, Jesus' enemies watched him closely. Would he heal the man's hand on the Sabbath? If he did, they planned to condemn him. 3. Jesus said to the man, "Come and stand in front of everyone." 4. Then he turned to his critics and asked, "Is it legal to do good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing harm? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?" But they wouldn't answer him. 5. He looked around at them angrily, because he was deeply disturbed by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, "Reach out your hand." The man reached out his hand, and it became normal again! 6. At once the Pharisees went away and met with the supporters of Herod to discuss plans for killing Jesus.

Luke 6: 6-11

6. On another Sabbath day, a man with a deformed right hand was in the synagogue while Jesus was teaching. 7. The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees watched closely to see whether Jesus would heal the man on the Sabbath, because they were eager to find some legal charge to bring against him. 8. But Jesus knew their thoughts. He said to the man with the deformed hand, "Come and stand here where everyone can see." So the man came forward. 9. Then Jesus said to his critics, "I have a question for you. Is it legal to do good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing harm? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?" 10. He looked around at them one by one and then said to the man, "Reach out your hand." The man reached out his hand, and it became normal again! 11. At this, the enemies of Jesus were wild with rage and began to discuss what to do with him.
